Spelt Kamut Buttermilk Biscuits

 

Ingredients

  • 2 cupss Spelt Flour
  • 1 cup Bob's Red Mill Kamut Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Non-alum baking powder
  • 1 1/2 cups Buttermilk
  • 2 tablespoonss Vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoonss Honey

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F
  • Mix dry ingredients
  • Blend liquids and sweetener
  • Combine mixtures
  • Mix gently
  • Batter should be like thick oatmeal
  • (add 1/4 cup water if too stiff) Drop by round 1/4 cup onto oiled and floured baking sheet or large cast iron skillet
  • Bake 35 minutes or until golden brown
  • Makes 18
  • (Modified from Arrowhead Mills Quick Spelt Bisquits recipe.) Hint: Let the batter stand for 20 or 30 minutes for lighter bisquits.
